ABOUT DARK LABEL

Empowering the working class music producer.

Remember when just being talented was enough to earn a living as in the music business? Times have changed.

The evolution of our industry, advances in technology, and the global economy has made becoming business-savvy a necessity.

At first, this can seem scary, or maybe even unappealing. But once you realize that business itself is also an art form, you’ll do just fine.

Unfortunately, traditional education hasn’t done the best job at showing music makers how to earn a living—so we stepped in to help.

Since 2018, we’ve personally consulted with over 500 music makers like you, helping them develop their sound, scale their business, and unlock new levels in their career—here’s some evidence to prove it.

Our clients range from those making the transition to full-time to GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum music pros and everyone in between.

Our approach is always based in reality, backed by data, and fueled by a genuine calling for this line of work.

And for our clients, it’s not just about making money. It’s more about understanding their resources and truly becoming a better, well-rounded craftsperson who creates incredible songs, offers more value to the market, and maintains a healthy relationship with the business side of their career.

Daniel Grimmett

Daniel has an extensive background in helping producers build businesses. He founded one of the first (and largest) fully-remote music production agencies and passed on hundreds of paid projects to upcoming producers. SXTM Music was a launchpad for many producers to kick-start their careers and build companies like Make Pop Music and That Pitch. Since 2018, he has been a full-time business advisor to both emerging and industry veteran producers.

Aaron Ferrucci

Aaron is a classically trained musician, multi-platinum producer, and songwriter from London. He has been producing songs for major label artists since he was 18 years old. His catalog has amassed over 500 million streams, and hit producers call on him for production coaching. Aaron helps our producers further develop their sound, portfolio, and navigate the major label world as music producers. He came on board in 2022 because he wanted to build something he wished he had when coming up..

Dark Label Producers

The most important people here at Dark Label Music are the producers that we’ve worked with over the years. Here’s a playlist that showcases some of the amazing songs they’ve produced.

Our Company

Dark Label is a small but mighty music firm based in Nashville and London, proudly serving music makers around the globe.

Our life’s work involves researching how producers, songwriters, and audio professionals can earn a sustainable living in an industry that is constantly evolving.

Then, we build things (tools + services) that make it easier for them to achieve that goal.

The first project is our renowned Producer Incubator, which combines a one-of-a-kind business support group with personalized management services.

We’ve figured out that the key to a long-term, healthy career in this industry comes down to you controlling your music business instead of it controlling you.
